And These Birds Can Sing: installation in St Nicholas Church, Liverpool

I am honoured and delighted to have a poem in this Liverpool installation – back to my roots J

‘And These Birds Can Sing’ is at

Our Lady and St. Nicholas’ Parish Church, 5 Old Churchyard, Liverpool L2 8GW  and from

Tuesday 27th July – Sunday 15th August 2021 the sound installation will be active between the hours of 11am-4pm each day.

The installation is a collection of bird houses with different bird sculptures, each with a different artistic theme. Each birdhouse will play a soundtrack of music, sound and spoken word. (see attached map )

My poem ‘The High Road’ will feature in the Pigeon bird box in the gardens outside the church J

There is a QR code at each birdhouse – this will link to the webpage for the exhibition where you will be credited, as well as showing a soundcloud playlist of all the work in the exhibition.

You can also go to this link here: https://www.katyannebellis.co.uk/and-these-birds-can-sing

Songs and poems will be available for streaming via this Soundcloud playlist from Tuesday 27th July – Wednesday 15th September, covering the duration of the exhibition and one month following the close of the exhibition. This is so people can hear their music/poems if they miss it during the five hours of the installation, and for members of the public to listen to the pieces away from the exhibition.  The songs/poems hosted via Soundcloud will not be available for download.

Pop on down if you’re in Liverpool and hear the birds sing...and listen in if you’re further away!
